Zaj\u00edmavost\u00ed je, \u017ee tyto vozy \u0160koda byly a\u017e do roku 2002 nejpo\u010detn\u011bj\u0161\u00edmi automobily na \u010desk\u00fdch silnic\u00edch (tedy je\u0161t\u011b 12 let po ukon\u010den\u00ed v\u00fdroby.) Poznamenat bychom m\u011bli p\u0159edch\u016fdce t\u011bchto aut, t\u00edm byla \u0160koda 100 a \u0160koda 110 Coup\u00e9, a n\u00e1sledovn\u00edkem nebyl \u017e\u00e1dn\u00fd jin\u00fd, ne\u017e v\u016fz s docela odli\u0161nou koncepc\u00ed pohonu p\u0159edn\u00ed n\u00e1pravy &#8211; \u0160koda Favorit.   Jak takov\u00e1 \u0161kodovka vypadala? M\u016f\u017eete se s n\u00ed je\u0161t\u011b setkat v n\u011bkter\u00fdch autobazarech, r\u00e1di se s n\u00ed pochlub\u00ed i sb\u011bratel\u00e9 veter\u00e1n\u016f. Automobil m\u011bl celokovovou samonosnou konstrukci karos\u00e9rie, osazenou \u010dty\u0159mi dve\u0159mi (sedan). Uvnit\u0159 karos\u00e9rie byl v jej\u00ed zadn\u00ed \u010d\u00e1sti p\u0159\u00ed\u010dn\u011b ulo\u017een motor, kter\u00fd poh\u00e1n\u011bl v\u00fdhradn\u011b zadn\u00ed n\u00e1pravu. Zavazadlov\u00fd prostor se tedy nach\u00e1zel v p\u0159edn\u00ed \u010d\u00e1sti vozu, co\u017e je dnes v podstat\u011b raritn\u00ed z\u00e1le\u017eitost. Vozy m\u011bly k dispozici je\u0161t\u011b p\u0159\u00edru\u010dn\u00ed (vedlej\u0161\u00ed) zavazadlov\u00fd prostor ukryt\u00fd za zadn\u00edmi sedadly mezi zadn\u00edmi op\u011bradly a motorem.  V\u00fdvoj voz\u016f \u0159ady 742 zapo\u010dal ji\u017e na po\u010d\u00e1tku 70. let, kdy bylo zapot\u0159eb\u00ed j\u00edt na trh s nov\u00fdm modelem aut, kter\u00e9 nahrad\u00ed zastaral\u00fd typ voz\u016f \u0160koda 100. Ten byl v t\u00e9 dob\u011b ji\u017e nevyhovuj\u00edc\u00ed po v\u0161ech str\u00e1nk\u00e1ch \u2013 z hlediska bezpe\u010dnosti, i po str\u00e1nce konstruk\u010dn\u00ed a technick\u00e9. Nov\u00fd v\u016fz tehdy vnesl na sv\u011btlo sv\u011bta \u0159e\u0161en\u00ed pom\u011brn\u011b nad\u010dasov\u00e9, na dlouhou dobu byl nejroz\u0161\u00ed\u0159en\u011bj\u0161\u00edm typem auta na na\u0161ich silnic\u00edch. Z p\u0159edchoz\u00edch voz\u016f byly p\u0159evzaty pouze p\u0159evodov\u00e1 sk\u0159\u00ed\u0148, n\u00e1pravy a motor, zcela nov\u00e1 byla naopak karos\u00e9rie, bezpe\u010dnostn\u00ed h\u0159\u00eddel volantu, h\u0159ebenov\u00e9 \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed, posilova\u010d brzd a \u0159e\u0161en\u00ed palivov\u00e9 n\u00e1dr\u017ee.
